Chances are the vendors along with their respective estate agent have enlisted a professional interior stylist to come in and furnish their home with furniture, accessories and artwork, all of which strategically placed, specific to the style of home – ensuring a consistent theme is achieved throughout each room.

Furniture styling is becoming quite common when people choose to sell. So much that it is even more obvious when properties do not use an interior designer!

The cost of styling your home depends on the size of your home, whether it will be fully furnished, part furnished etc.

A 3-4-bedroom home fully furnished/styled may cost anywhere from $2,500 – $4,500 for a period of 6 weeks or so.

A tastefully styled home can really assist potential purchasers visualise living in that space. It can really elevate your home to a different price bracket if you get the styling correct according to the property and purchaser demographic / intended buyer audience.

I find properties that need that extra attention when it comes to presentation or higher end luxury homes that require a high price point can really benefit from styling and home staging. Not only does your property present well in photos, encouraging more people to attend open for inspections and increase buyer enquires, but it will also create a wholistic look for your property. Establishing your selling strategy

If you are still unsure whether home styling or hiring a property stylist can make a difference, I suggest re-visiting your selling strategy.

How fast do you want to sell? What price are you trying to obtain? Will the potential ‘return for investment’ pay off in the final overall sale price?

It is important to understand the period you would like your property styled for also, as the longer a home is styled the higher the cost will be. So, using a stylist that understands your budget and complete style/look is crucial in nailing the correct look for your particular property.
