Leopold is a residential eastern suburb of Geelong and is the Gateway to the Bellarine Peninsula. The area was formerly known as Kensington. The post office opened as Kensington on 19 May 1858, and was renamed Kensington Hill in 1882, Leopold Hill in 1884 and Leopold in 1885.

The Bellarine Rail Trail passes through Leopold and is a fantastic initiative to provide a meander, run or ride through the peaceful landscape, which runs all the way to Queenscliff.
Gateway Plaza Shopping Complex is home to Kmart, Bunnings, Coles, McDonald’s, Bendigo Bank, Medical Centre and many other convenient shops.

The newer developed areas of consist of the Leopold Kensington Estate, Estuary Estate, Debionair Heights Estate and the Gateway Estate. These areas have been cleverly constructed with surrounding parks, landmarks and sporting facilities. The original areas of Leopold also continue to be highly desirable with large block sizes, great family homes and older properties with development potential.
